The University of Ghana is widely regarded as the best university in the country and is often ranked as one of the top institutions in West Africa. It serves as a hub for scientific research and offers vast resources for both students and faculty. Notably, it houses the Balm Library, the largest academic library in West Africa, which provides access to a wide range of academic materials.

Despite its strengths, the university faces significant challenges. The large number of admissions often results in overcrowded lecture halls with poor ventilation. This over-enrollment also makes it difficult for lecturers to effectively assess students, leading to issues such as misplaced or unmarked scripts and, in some cases, undeserved grades. While some professors go above and beyond to support students despite these challenges, many others are less approachable and provide limited academic guidance.

On the other hand, the social life at the University of Ghana is vibrant and highly regarded, offering students opportunities to build networks, explore diverse interests, and enjoy a dynamic campus experience.
