I was really ecstatic to be a resident student at University of Ghana. At 16 years, I was enrolled at the university and did not know how to manage this newly found independence. There were lots of parties and clubs happening at the university. However, I had to teach myself control and time management in order to avoid being swept up in all the excitement.
Also, I was very particular about the type of friends I kept. I made sure I surrounded myself with friends who were focused and responsible. A key highlight of my university experience was the group studies I organized with my friends. This played a key role in my academic excellence.
