My experience at the University of Ghana was overall positive, though it came with its challenges. The campus is large, making commuting between classes a bit difficult, especially for students without personal transportation. Fortunately, recent upgrades have addressed this, with more shuttle services now available to ease movement.
The university provides abundant student resources, and the classrooms are consistently clean, offering a conducive environment for learning. One of the highlights of my time there was the opportunity to learn new things beyond my core program. The university encourages exploration, and I personally took a data analytics course over five weekends, which greatly broadened my skill set.
The support for extracurricular activities is commendable, allowing students to engage in various interests beyond academics. While the workload was sometimes stressful, the environment and resources available made it manageable and enriching.
I would recommend that the University continue expanding shuttle services to make commuting even more convenient, especially for students who live far from their classes. Additionally, offering more flexible learning opportunities, like the data analytics course I took, can allow students to explore fields beyond their major and acquire valuable skills.
