I completed my Masters in Electrical Engineering with focus on Electrical Power Engineering.
More than 10 practical oriented courses are offered encompassing power electronics, power systems, high voltage engineering, wind turbine technology. The course quality is excellent accompanied by practical simulation exercises and lab experiments.
The Professors are knowledgeable and patient with students. Possibility of obtaining Student scientific assistant positions makes it possible to work on tasks assigned by PhD students, making it possible to work on current topics and earning a monthly assistantship. Students with good performance have the opportunity to pursue their PhD after the completion of the degree. Rostock also provides other possibilities for student jobs in various establishments.
The Mensa (Canteen) is very good with large selection of vegan and vegetarian options.

I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Rostock and also completed my PhD there. The small class sizes and hands-on assignments create an excellent learning environment. The student-to-supervisor ratio is outstanding: professors and lecturers are very approachable and highly supportive. Research quality is excellent, with strong industry connections. There are collaborative research projects with companies such as Infineon, Siemens, Nordex, and Vestas. The salary for PhD candidates is also very competitive.

What i always liked about the University of Rostock is how well it is integrated into the City. You can easily go from campus to campus in minutes using the fantastic public transportation. It is also free to use, because the cost for the ticket is included in your tuition fee.
