I study Molecular Biotechnology M.Sc. at Heidelberg University and I have done the same study as B.Sc. in Heidelberg. The lectures and seminars in both bachelor and master are of very high quality. In the bachelor, all necessary skills in biology, chemistry, physics and maths are thought that is necessary to understand the research field and prepare you for the practical work in the lab. The master gives great opportunities to focus on a specific field of interest, to do many internships and to go abroad. One has to attend lectures and internships in the fields of pharmaceutical research, biophysical chemistry and bioinformatics. One of the three fields is chosen as a major, meaning that one attends more sessions in that field and writes the final thesis in it. The only thing I miss in the study is that opportunities to work in the industry are not communicated so well. In general it would be helpful to get more information about future job perspectives.
