It is recognized as the excellent center for computer science in Germany. The Saarland University was founded in cooperation with France and organized in six faculties in major fields of science in1948. It is a modern research university located in Saarbrucken. They now have over 17,000 students and approximately 3,000 academic and administrative staff. The university has a council that makes strategic decisions, allocates funding and supervising the board. The Saarland University consist of six faculties:
