The Saarland University was founded in cooperation with France and organized in six faculties in major fields of science in1948. It is a modern research university located in Saarbrucken. They now have over 17,000 students and approximately 3,000 academic and administrative staff. The university has a council that makes strategic decisions, allocates funding and supervising the board. The Saarland University consist of six faculties:

Underrated yet great University!

With the Saarland University, the small state has an excellent institution. Studying at this university was great. The location is quite peaceful with greenery and fresh air. Transport and facilities are top-notch. Diversity is embraced and the professors are completely supportive. The food at ‘Mensa’ is surprisingly tasty and it’s completely affordable. I’m enjoying my stay here and will recommend you too.
