I would like to highlight how crucial is the reputation of the university as one of top 10 business schools in Europe. The questionable relevance of lecture contents gets overshadowed by the amount of doors opening to you should you just briefly mention your place of studies.
In the end it’s internships and people you meet what matters for the future career, not the models learnt in the lecture, in the first place. That only becomes possible thought exclusivity of your institution – Mannheim does a great job in that.
I am doing my Masters at the University of Mannheim and since I already did my bachelor course there, and was aware of the studies, my experience was pretty much how I expected it to be. One of the best things for me was that Uni Mannheim has a lot of partners all over the world, so there are many possibilities of doing an exchange semester. Also, the quality of education. The professors are extremely experienced and have great didacticism. I had courses in the management field, sports field and even in the pedagogical field, making the studies always very interesting and broad. I would recommend it to a friend doing both the Bachelors’s and the Master’s degree in Uni Mannheim, because student life is also really good (there are many student initiatives). The city of Mannheim is a very nice student city, so finding accommodation for your studies is quite simple. Shared flats are the most common living type and they are uploaded on a daily basis on websites and facebook groups. The city itself is not that beautiful, for students, it’s nice though. Everything is flat hence you can reach everything easily. Nightlife offers multiple options. The Uni is located in a big old German castle, so the campus is old and new at the same time. For future students, I would definitely recommend joining a student club to learn some new things and connect with other students in the free time. Also, looking for flats in the “Quadrate” (city center).
