People usually tend to look at the university in a different way once I tell them it’s private. And they’re completely misunderstood. I’ve had the best two years of my life and grown mentally and professionally studying at KLU. The quality of professors at KLU assures you that you’re mentored by known and respected professors in the academic world, and that’s even something to brag about. But being all academic for a university is not always good, and KLU has avoided doing that through their all-year-round events like Oscars, Welcome Back, Casino Night, etc. I wasn’t happy at first that KLU had only academic clubs such as Advisupply, etc., but I’m happy now that it isn’t the case and we’ve got more people starting their own, for instance, the photography club (which went dead after a few weeks, lmao, but hey, it’s a start).
Although I wasn’t satisfied with the course structure at one point. If not mentioned already, I graduated from the Master in Supply Chain program this year, and we had a course, “Sourcing and Procurement,” in our 2nd/3rd semester as an elective course. I wasn’t happy to hear this because topics like procurement are core to supply chain, and people shouldn’t have to choose between that and other courses — it should be made a core subject. Other than this, my learning experience was amazing. Shoutout to the student services and other staff for being such an amazing, friendly, and helpful group of people — always helping us students out and providing quick and concise replies/feedback/answers. People don’t realize how important and helpful it is for students like us to have a voice we can talk to and get the information we need. I’ve seen other universities where the staff takes weeks to reply and answer back, and I’ve seen students frustrated with it. So yeah, shoutout to y’all.
The campus life is amazing. Being in the heart of the city, next to the Elbe, always subconsciously makes you feel like you belong in this city and you’re someone important. The one thing I wish we could improve on campus would be a cheaper and better food hall. But otherwise, the campus is nothing like other universities and exceeds everyone’s expectations.
