There are pros and cons to this program. On the positive side, the multicultural atmosphere is fantastic, and the soft skills you gain from working in global teams are relevant. The university location and student community also made the experience bearable.
That said, I cannot highly recommend the program because of the lack of technical depth. Many modules felt repetitive or surface-level, and some faculty members seemed disconnected from the modern software development landscape. If you are looking for a rigorous technical challenge, you might find this program frustrating. It’s more about project management and “getting by” than becoming a top-tier developer.
I enrolled in the M.Sc. in Global Software Development expecting to learn modern industry standards, but I found the curriculum to be quite outdated. Many of the technologies and methodologies taught are no longer relevant in today’s fast-paced tech world.
Furthermore, the support from the department was lacking. Feedback on assignments was often delayed or vague, making it difficult to improve. For a “Global” program, I expected much better organization and communication. I would think twice before choosing this program if you are looking for cutting-edge technical training.
In my opinion, Fulda University of Applied Sciences offers excellent facilities and student environment. Would like to see them open other departments in the future such as in Media. Need more opportunities for student activities and involvement, especially for international students. Overall, I would recommend it for great programs. excellent campus facilities and good student environment.
