The university is chronically underfunded and you will be able to tell. The lectures and seminars are overcrowded. The libraries and other facilities are not up to par either. There’s very little support for new students available.

The university is good; it offers international programs, and there are plenty of international students. The program itself was not the best, in my opinion, and they could improve it a lot. I think it misses the point of connecting it more with the labor market. The focus might be too academic and not professionally oriented.

Sort of useless degree but i really liked the professors. The degree is very interesting for those who want to deepen their knowledge about many linguistic and cutural topics. However, I did not quite enjoy the linguistics part.

My experience at Freie Universität Berlin has been very positive so far. The university has a strong academic reputation and a very international environment. You meet students from many different countries, which makes studying here interesting and culturally enriching.
One thing I really appreciate is that there are no tuition fees, which makes higher education much more accessible for international students. Students only pay a semester contribution, but the quality of education and facilities is excellent.
The professors are knowledgeable and the courses encourage independent thinking and research. The libraries and study spaces are also very good, and the campus environment is calm and suitable for studying.
Another great advantage is the location. Studying in Berlin means you are in one of the most dynamic and multicultural cities in Europe, with many opportunities for students.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Freie Universität Berlin to anyone looking for a high-quality education in an international and welcoming environment.
