I completed the Certified Expert in Climate Adaptation Finance — a 6 months online course — in 2025. The course consists predominantly of longish pdf documents. There is little / low quality multi media and limited interaction with FSFM staff (and none with the professors featured on the promotion page for the course). The content was largely outdated (reading lists often stopped 2016) and of little relevance for the subject of climate adaptation, instead covering related basic such as the UN climate process, corporate finance and project evaluation. Focus is 100% on developing countries. So you will learn a lot about coffee farming and drip irrigation but almost nothing, for example, on green bonds or blended finance. There is a comprehensive final exam on a fixed day, using an online software. You will be expected to do financial calculations (IRR, discounting) using a school calculator.
