The first thing that comes to our minds when we hear Tourism and Hospitality is ‘people’. As the name of the degree suggests, it is all about customer service. Tourism and Hospitality degrees prepare candidates to work in diverse working environments all over the world.
Even so, many people confuse Tourism and Hospitality degrees with Tourism degrees. What is the difference between these two? The main difference lies in where the employees work. With a Tourism degree, you can work in a museum, national park and so on, whilst with a Tourism and Hospitality degree you will work in hotels, restaurants.
This degree is shaped in such a way that candidates acquire skills about hotel management, food preparation and sanitation as well as human resources.
Experts say that it only takes six months for Tourism and Hospitality graduates to find a job. The most frequent areas which display the highest number of job opportunities are catering management and hotel management. As a result of their flexible degree, 15% of the graduates choose to combine work with study to broaden their employability chances.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this field will have an addition of 700 jobs, both in management positions and others.
Perhaps the most important benefit is represented by the growth opportunities. This degree will teach you about networking and developing your emotional intelligence, which are of utmost importance in this field.
This degree lasts for three years, out of which one year should be spent abroad. Usually, in the second year of their studies, students go abroad and study in a partner country. The whole idea behind this is to encourage cultural awareness and adaptation.
Additionally, some universities in the UK provide a compulsory internship during which students gather relevant industry experience.
Berlin School Business & Innovation (BSBI) is a complete school. They offer you several programs from Bachelor’s to Master’s, besides that, they also offer extracurricular and complementary programs where students can benefit from at no additional cost. My favorite activity is the Multicultural Day, performed every year, where different students from different countries of the school gather around to celebrate and share their culture with other students.
View moreThe quality of teaching varies greatly depending on the lecturer. Most of them do a really good job. However, for example there is a Brazilian marketing lecturer who does not speak good English. His teaching content is rather very basic, like marketing in tourism for absolute beginners … I expect more from a private university! Replace him.
View moreA university which provides Education in Berlin is very efficient and effective. There Mode of Studies is made in way that balances both Personal and work life. There services is excellent and mode of communication is very personal.
View moreI recently applied for admission at BSBI through their online platform. Throughout the admission process, my student advisor Sainath Nallapu provided invaluable assistance, guiding me through each step and resolving any issues I encountered. I am genuinely content with the support I received, and I wholeheartedly endorse this university for those considering studying in France.
View moreMy worst nightmare was coming here. After learning so hard to write your assignments. They give you undeserving grade and say” here you know you can’t get higher marks more than 70% and be grateful if you get 55% to 69%.
Seeing one group of people here all the time is boring. No diversity because of the poor structure of the school.
Favouritism is also a huge problem, because certain group of people are many here and majority (almost 80%) of the staffs are also from the same country. They tend to favour them and cover up for them.
I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, because coming to BSBI is a waste of money.
At least the only good thing is just the cleanliness of the school.
Aside that BSBI offers nothing better.

View moreFrom the beginning I got the wrong picture about everything, the person who leads me through the process of paperwork and everything to get into university explained to me that I will get all, for example, that the university got own campus with rooms for their students and similar, but it wasn’t true. Many times I said I prefer communication through e-mail, not phone calls, but no one listened, because no one cares. Mostly, all employees are very rude and whatever you asked, and as a student, I had a lot of questions because no one explained anything before. I would get a response where you could feel that person who is responding just doing it because he or she must do that, and that I am annoying with questions.
One professor wanted barely to hear what I spoke about. Another professor puts on daily basis pictures on social media of how is she practising or enjoying coffee in “appropriate” clothes. I am a student of Tourism, in my first bachelor year.
