More focus should be given in clearing concepts from grassroots level rather than bouncing of with the idea that few of the students, who already had two-three masters, are able to understand. Also, focus should be given on the difficulty level of questions that are taught to solve in class and those which are expected to be solved during exam.
The proper way to solve and practice should be taught. The tutors should try to make one to one interactions with the students apart from the academics so that students can openly discuss the things in class that are not understood. And also, special attention should be given to those who are seen to be left out in the class. The marking system of the subjects should be made uniform as well as the exam pattern for all the subjects. And later things should be decided based on the overall yearly records of the students rather than any particular mid-term or end-term exams. Regarding the campus life, more fun activities should be arranged and it should be made compulsory for the students to take part in atleast one it because, it would be necessary for any particular student, no matter he/she/they wants it or not, to blend in with the overall culture and society of the university.
I would highlight the fact that the program is rich in content, especially during the first year. During the first semester, we had a class about orientation to help us in creating plans for our future careers. We were able to focus more on our future for the upcoming years. And in the second semester, we had language classes where students could train their English skills, or learn a new language. Concerning the scientific part of our major, I’d like to note that the university offers tutorials in all these scientific disciplines to help students excel and increase their chances of succeeding. The professors are friendly and close to their students, they usually reply to all our emails in case we have a problem. The library of the university offers plenty of resources to help us with our revisions when we have exams. So overall I’d say that Sorbonne is really a university that tries to push its students into excellence.
