Paris Nanterre University is a vibrant and diverse place, perfect for students in the social sciences and humanities. What I appreciate most is the intellectual openness and diversity of opinions that animate the courses. The teachers are often experts in their field, and they encourage students to develop critical thinking. However, the campus is a bit far from the center of Paris, which can be challenging for some students. Apart from that, there is a strong student community and many associations that make university life very enriching. I recommend Paris Nanterre to anyone looking for a stimulating environment and great freedom of expression.

Paris Nanterre University, particularly its law campus, stands out for its exceptional faculty in international law. The master’s program offers a diverse range of courses that effectively prepare students for legal competitions, notably the CRFPA (French Bar exam). The expansive campus hosts a varied student body representing numerous nationalities. This cultural diversity contributes significantly to students’ personal and academic growth, enriching their university experience and providing valuable international perspectives in the legal field. The vibrant multicultural environment, combined with rigorous academic training, creates an ideal setting for aspiring legal professionals to thrive and develop a global outlook on law.

I spent in total 5 years at this university. It was a great overall experience, despite a few downsides.
First, the quality of the campus, paired with the diversity of programmes offered there provides a dynamic environment.
Nonetheless, the administration of the university, and the lack of guidance, can lead to confusion and unclear situations. It takes a few months at least to fully comprehend how the university is organized and whom to address when facing difficulties.
Regarding the courses, some can be very interesting and well delivered, while others can be more confusing and less attractive, depending on the professor.

I hated my time as an exchange student here. Accessing the portal for all the emails is difficult enough. Other than in the fete courses they don’t really care about exchange students. Teachers never respond to emails, students are closed off and don’t interact with Erasmus students. The teachers talk too fast and it’s difficult to integrate yourself. I wish I could leave sooner.
