What I take away from this school are the professional skills and the freedom it has given me. Hundreds of opportunities were available to me every year – whether in terms of lessons, timetables, optional subjects, sport, tools, years abroad or academic opportunities of all kinds – and none of the ones I chose disappointed me.
The courses and academic requirements (particularly on my programme, the International BBA) have really helped me develop professional skills. The school doesn’t treat you like a student, but like an adult. The courses place greater emphasis on carrying out practical projects than on exams. Far from the lecture-style classes I’d expected, I found lecturers open to discussion and practical lessons rather than abstract concepts. The programme, which is taught entirely in English, and the large number of presentations required throughout the course may seem like obstacles, but they force you to step out of your comfort zone and help you overcome the discomfort of nervousness. I, who spoke absolutely no English, am now fluent in the language.
The administrative procedures are a bit time-consuming and complicated, but the staff are always on hand to help whenever you need them.
The various campuses abroad and their numerous partnerships allow you to travel the world like never before whilst you’re studying. This gives you the chance to discover different places around the globe, familiarise yourself with new cultures and languages, whilst staying at the same school – which makes this international experience, which can sometimes be scary, much easier. It’s really reassuring to know that, even though everything changes, you still have a sense of familiarity so you’re not falling into the unknown (you stay with the same students, at the same school, with the same system and the SAME TUITION FEES).
Despite all these advantages, the school offers plenty of opportunities, but it won’t hand them to you on a silver platter: you’ll have to seize them and take responsibility rather than wait patiently. For those who are shy or afraid to take initiatives, this can be a slight inconvenience. But on the other hand, it’s nice to feel free to make your own choices.
If you’re looking for a school that truly prepares you for working life and offers you a great deal of freedom, this is the school for you.
