I recently completed my BSc in Information Technology at the University of Eswatini, and my overall experience was very positive.
What I Liked: The program provides a solid theoretical foundation in core IT principles. What stood out to me most was the encouragement to apply classroom knowledge to real-world problems. For example, during my time there, I was able to develop a full-stack mobile application for transport logistics, which allowed me to master Java, PHP, and SQL in a practical setting. The professors in the IT department are knowledgeable and generally accessible for guidance on complex projects.
What Could Be Improved: While the curriculum is strong, I would have liked to see more emphasis on emerging cloud technologies and automated QA testing frameworks to stay even more aligned with rapid global industry shifts.
Would I Recommend It? Yes, I would definitely recommend UNESWA to students who are self-motivated. It is a great environment for those who are willing to go beyond the syllabus and build their own portfolio of work. It prepares you well for the challenges of the tech industry.

4. Technical Skill Development
Training in surveying, engineering drawings and machinery operation equips students with practical competencies required in the field.
The University of Eswatini is the man and the largest public university in Eswatini. The university runs a multi campus system in three cities in the country. Manzini campus, the main campus which houses the central administration, runs undergraduate programs in humanities and sciences. It also runs postgraduate programs. Luyengo campus, the second largest, runs agricultural science programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Mbabane campus runs health programs. The university has exceptional faculties and faculty members who are highly experienced and knowledgeable. The diverse backgrounds of the faculty members enhance student experience and leadership. The availability of academic resources such as learning centers, laboratory and field facilities to enhance research is a plus for any student who wants to develop their academic credentials and skills. I will recommend the university to anyone who wants to pursue their academic career in a diverse, rich and serene environment with collaborative learning and research experience.
View moreI am proud to say my University is very filfilling in terms of balancing finacial, social and financials which is great.
However balancing these elements is not easy for most students and that’s when they need support and councillors.
View moreThe experience wasn’t so great as most services were limited. However, the education I received was invaluable, as it empowered me to be an agricultural entrepreneur. I managed to start my own business because of my bachelor’s degree focus area, which was agricultural economics.
