Studying at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen surprised me with its unique atmosphere and community. What few people mention is the availability of quiet areas on campus – for example, the gardens at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, which are ideal for relaxing between lectures. As a mechanical engineering student, I appreciated not only the modern laboratories, but also the university’s connections with local companies, which allowed me to get an interesting internship during my studies. The university also organizes so-called “Open Mic Nights,” where students from various fields share their interests – from poetry to playing the guitar. Pilsen itself has a pleasant student atmosphere, and thanks to the relatively small city, you quickly feel at home. The only challenge may be navigating the administrative processes, but the support of students is always helpful. Studying here is not only about learning, but also about discovering new experiences and friendships.

Most faculties are at public transport stops, connections from the train and bus stations are excellent. Each faculty has an extensive library. Teachers at my faculty (pedagogical) are from industry and practice. He teaches us what he knows and that is most valuable to the students, and he gives it the most. The university is very actively cooperating with foreign universities.
