University of Chester is best for international students as it offers wide range of courses in the presence of experienced faculties. I have studied master of biotechnology and the coursework component of the program was really good , loaded with lab sessions. I would like them to make it more research based and give students more opportunities in research and innovation.
View moreVSCHT is focused on knowledge that you would need in industry. VSCHT has a great variety of subjects of various difficulty. I liked, that students have a lot of freedom in constructing their curriculum. How much can learn a student from these subjects is also very dependent on self-discipline. Most professors do not require presence in the classroom and homework. For many subjects, there are no midterms. For many subjects, students can get a passable grade with an all-nighter, some luck and soft skills – which I think isn’t so good, as the student will have only partial knowledge on the subject while overestimating their knowledge. Some foundational subjects, however, are hard to pass and also very dense in studying the material.
Students body mostly consists of Czech students.
Faculty members in general act supportive towards foreign students, some are even willing to take exams in other languages, depending on their linguistic skills (but attending English spoken subjects might be a struggle).
A lot of weaker students are dropping out in the first year, but with each year professors are less strict and focus more on student’s capability of thinking rather than factual knowledge. (At least that was my experience).
VSCHT has a good reputation in the Czech republic but mostly unknown outside of CR.
Is a highly specialized University, making with all the equipment necessary for every aspect of chemistry. The professors/students ratio is very high, there is research in a vast variety of fields with quality output.
A majority of the professors is truly invested in making the experience of learning true and organic, really promoting the critical and analytical approach towards the subjects.
Some instructors have communication problems due to the fact their English is not the best and that aspect is maybe troublesome in the sharing of the knowledge-making the learning experience in English sometimes challenging. At the same time, the research groups usually communicate in Czech making the social integration complicated.
Nevertheless is a great University with an incredible standard of education and highly specialized in the field.
This university has a strong research in the field of chemistry ane biotechnology. The institute has well equipped laboratories with good technical staff. It is located at one of good location in the city.
View moreThe university was good. I had a good time. Problem is most of the people including staffs speak Czech and few understands English. The quality of education is not that bad. Some of the professors are not good at teaching.
View moreIt is a pretty good university for English speaking students in Prague. The location is very accessible and teachers are very approachable. Lectures are taken in an interactive manner. I also love the fact that there is a huge international community present.
