What I like about this University is how diverse they are in regards to different nationalities, ethic backgrounds etc.
What I don’t like is sometimes it’s hard to communicate with the lecturers because of the language barrier. As most speak Turkish fluently.
View moreWhile I appreciate the academic environment at my university, a notable drawback for me as a master’s student is the limited emphasis on practical projects, research opportunities, and presentations. Instead of fostering a more hands-on approach, the curriculum leans towards examinations, mirroring the structure of undergraduate programs. I believe a greater balance between theoretical assessments and practical application would better prepare us for the demands of our respective fields and enhance the overall learning experienceI recommend that the university reevaluate the structure of the master’s program to incorporate more practical elements such as projects, research opportunities, and presentations. Balancing theoretical assessments with hands-on experiences would better align the curriculum with the expectations of advanced-level education, providing master’s students with a more comprehensive skill set for their future endeavors.

View moreCyprus International University (CIU) is a well-known university located in North Cyprus that offers a wide range of academic programs to students. As a student of CIU, I have both likes and dislikes about the university.
One of the things that I like about CIU is its diverse student population. The university has a large number of international students, which allows for a unique cultural exchange experience. The interaction between students from different backgrounds has broadened my perspective on the world and has helped me understand different cultures and viewpoints.
Another aspect of CIU that I appreciate is its well-equipped campus. The university has modern facilities, including a library, computer labs, and sports facilities, which provide students with the resources they need to succeed academically and athletically. The campus is also visually appealing, which makes for a pleasant and productive learning environment.
However, there are also things that I dislike about CIU. One of the major issues is the lack of public transportation. The university is located in a remote area, and the availability of public transportation is limited, making it difficult for students who do not have their own cars to get to campus. This can be a significant burden for students who live far away and have to rely on taxis, which can be expensive.
Another challenge that I have faced at CIU is the limited availability of student housing. Although the university has a student dormitory, it is often full, and students are forced to find housing off-campus, which can be time-consuming and expensive. This can make it difficult for students who are new to the area to settle in and find a place to live.
In conclusion, while there are some aspects of Cyprus International University that I like, such as its diverse student population and well-equipped campus, there are also things that I dislike, such as the lack of public transportation and limited availability of student housing. Nevertheless, I believe that the overall experience at CIU has been a positive one and has provided me with the education and opportunities that I need to succeed in my future endeavors.
