Integrated into the city and connected to the city, York U offers one an open experience to education. It houses people of diverse backgrounds from different cultures and I describe it as a melting pot. As a computer science student, I felt supported all the way in my studies and will always give credit to the management of such a prestigious university.

Studying at York University was a mix of positives and challenges. The university offers a diverse and inclusive environment, which made meeting people from different backgrounds an enriching experience. The professors in my program were knowledgeable, and many brought real-world experience into the classroom. The coursework was engaging, and the assignments helped reinforce key concepts effectively.

The campus itself is large and well-equipped, but navigating services like academic advising and student support sometimes felt overwhelming due to long response times and bureaucratic delays. While York provides great learning resources, I felt that some areas could benefit from better organization and student engagement.

One area that could be improved is career support. While there were some networking events and workshops, more tailored opportunities for industry connections and hands-on experience would have been valuable. Additionally, communication about extracurricular activities and campus events could be better, as many students seemed unaware of available opportunities.

Overall, York University is a solid institution for education and skill-building, but improving student support services and engagement opportunities would make the experience even better.

Its an okay school, prof are okay, campus is great however its just a commuter campus. The management does need to have some improvement and the security could be better. Food options can be better too. Overall 7/10

My experience at York University has been wonderful. You get access to any kind of resources you need. There are so many people working so hard to ensure students succeed in their endeavors so that shows how the university really cares about their students. I received so much help thats why I’ve been working as an ambassador for York University

York University is very diverse and I believe that this is the perfect university for me. Doing a computer science course has made me learn so much in this university and I would love to do something similar to that field.

I liked how the program had many different courses you could take in software engineering and how it is very inclusive. I liked my classes they were very productive and intuitive. I also like all the facilities the school gave like the Bergeron centre, it was nice to do work in there. I didn’t like my class timings because u would have one class in the morning and then one in the evening, I wish they would improve their class timings. The student life was pretty good I was able to make some good friends and it was nice meeting people from different programs. I would recommend this school to others, I liked the Lassonde school of engineering a lot.

The university is a home to so many international students, that itself is so brilliant. It has many places to eat (over 40, I believe). Coming from a small college with only three places to eat, this was a big deal to me.
It has many classes you can take that you cannot find anywhere else. Since it is such a big campus, they have the ability to offer more programs. With that, you can take probably anything you could ever imagine (I’ve taken courses pertaining to dinosaur extinction, food science, and European street life history). I’ve also had the pleasure from learning under remarkable professors and TA’s, such as my TA who is a cardiologist, and my professor who is the head of the health policy department, who has worked at several different universities including at University of Toronto as the health policy person.

This university is pretty diverse when it comes to cultures. It has many clubs that support the different cultures coming in from different parts of the world. Recreational activities are also available for use. Though the professors could be improved by the faculties, they do have a pretty decent teaching system. Safety of the students is a concern but they have implemented security-related systems that help students in tough times.
