Overall, my experience here was positive. Provided a solid education, exposure to diverse perspectives and opportunities to grow both academically and personally.
I liked the diverse student population and inclusive environment. Also, large campus with many clubs and activities.
I disliked the strike disruptions during my time there, some administrative processed were slow and navigating the campus could feel overwhelming at times.
However, I would recommend York University to students who are self-motivated and comfortable in a large campus setting. If you take initiative, build relationships with professors and use the resources available, York can offer a rewarding and well-rounded university experience.

My experience at York University has been incredible. York has proved to be a reputable institution that has provided me with the platform to express my creativity and ideas. Being a communication and media studies major, I’ve had the privilege of learning approaches and concept that really interest me, the lectures and especially the tutorials for me has enhanced my skill to think outside of the box and with a much wider lens. The massive campus, the diversity makes the place feel like home which it has certainly become.

York lays out your program requirements very well and it’s super easy to build your schedule. Professors are chill and lenient. Makes the whole experience fun and easy. However, I’ve had many issues with residence. They rarely ever give anyone the room or building that they want.

One of the reasons I chose York is because the great diversity of classes. York is one of the few universities at the time of my application that offered a 4 year continuation of my Korean education. With York, I was able to become intermediate in Korean and also learn cultural aspects of North Korean culture. I was have also been able to been able to transfer programs easily while receiving assistance in financial struggles. One thing that I wish that could be fixed is their response time in their registrar’s email, but other than that I believe I made the right choice.

I enjoy the university I’m attending it is very spacious and large with many different areas to explore. The campus is very nice and welcoming. I find my major to be extremely fascinating and I feel satisfied in my program.

I like how York University has a multicultural student body and a large campus where there are many places to study and meet people. However, I believe the students would benefit from creating creative spaces for students that are looking to meet people with similar interests and passions, ultimately creating life-long connections.
