Brock has a quite a friendly and inviting campus. Unlike other schools in the province, Brock lacks a competitive vibe, allowing students to feel more welcome and able to make friends. The lack of diversity and inclusion on campus does not go unnoticed, although the university seems to be making positive steps with the unveiling of the new Black Student Success Center. Brock has great international programs, and a large international student community (although don’t expect a large variety of cuisine options across campus).
View moreSince Brock is a smaller school, the campus is pretty easy to become familiar with. Almost all of the buildings are connected, which is really nice in the winter. It doesn’t have a ton of food options/things to do near the campus, but the bus system is pretty easy to use! The gym was also recently renovated and is really nice.
View moreThe campus is alright. Sometimes feels like you’re in jail. Lacks study spaces. Food options are alright. The university gets you the degree. The academic advisors are good though. Gym is really nice as well.
View moreBrock University is overall a well-established post-secondary school. Its Concurrent Education Program is a 6-year program that allows you to fulfil the requirements of obtaining your Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate. Once you complete your 4 years, you enter into 2 more years of teachers’ college. Many of the classes were very repetitive but overall did contribute to my learning.
View moreThe amenities of Brock University are extremely good. The university features outstanding laboratories that are certainly the greatest in the world, as well as a fantastic curriculums for effective learning.

View moreDue to the layout and student population size, Brock has a small-school community feel while still having the resources and facilities of a larger university. There are lots of on-campus events planned for students throughout the year available to participate in.
View moreMy experience at Brock University has not been great, in all honesty. I am in my first year of the Consecutive Teachers Education program, and myself and other classmates all feel as though it is extremely more stressful than it needs to be, and that the work given could be a lot more helpful. We are studying to be teachers, but do not necessarily learn how to teach. Many assignments involve presentations about the laws of education, for instance, but we do not learn how to actually teach. We are soon entering into our first teaching placement and we are all very lost and nervous. However, one thing we learn about is the importance of diversity and inclusion as teachers, which is very important. But, I think that the way these courses are taught is not necessarily effective. We are given readings on racism written by white authors, for instance, which seems counterproductive. Coming from York University, which is a very diverse school, to Brock, where the lack of diversity in contrast was shocking to me – I find that there is a lot of telling us that we need to be anti racist, but little effort into teaching us HOW we do this. There are students who are racist, who are not learning how to be more inclusive and accepting. As a person with friends of many races, sexualities, and abilities/disabilities, it is a passion of mine to bring allyship and inclusion into my future careers.
View moreSo far, my time at Brock has been incredible! On campus, there is a ton lot do, and it is obvious that the administration is concerned about the students. The food is excellent, and the students are the friendliest around. It’s not perfect (like all other schools), but it’s a supportive environment with a good curriculum.
View moreEveryone at Brock university is amazing and welcoming, and the university is fantastic. You can learn so much Just by talking to another student. Walking to class at this stunning school is never disappointing. Visit if you can; it is beautiful! I absolutely love the atmosphere on campus, the activities, and their concern for the students. I love how beautiful and in tune with the natural environment the campus is. I absolutely recommend this amazing university.
