I feel that my program overall has been good. I especially like the fact that there is a co-op portion along with it, as it provides me with work experience while being able to study at school. I have also been able to make friends and bonds that will last me a lifetime. Some professors are understanding and will let you off when you are sick, but others will not. Overall, it has been a good experience since I have been able to learn online as well as in person.
View moreThe University of Waterloo is a highly respected institution known for its excellent programs in computer science and engineering; however, its excellence goes beyond its program offerings. I was initially a student at Wilfrid Laurier University before I transferred to UW for the English—Rhetoric, Media, and Professional Communication program. This decision was incredibly nerve-wracking as I thought I would feel disconnected from my peers as a transfer student. Reflecting on this decision, I certainly do not regret coming to UW, as it has been the most welcoming environment—the community, resources, program, my peers—every aspect has made me feel secure and glad in my decision to transfer here. The support I have received from the University of Waterloo is reflective of the values held that ensure the growth and development of all students.
