I want to give it infinitely negative stars for my experience as an international engineering student there if I can. This place almost killed me, twice.
The atmosphere is overwhelmingly negative thanks to its unreasonably competitive co-ops, hostile classmates and useless mental health systems. The teaching quality is mediocre and some of the professors are the worst individuals I’ve seen. I hate this place. Comparing to UWaterloo, my current grad school feels like a normal uni experience it should be: I’m here to learn and grow, not to suffer, not to surrender my soul to the stupid program. I recall nearly zero positive experience for my time back there. Avoid this school at all cost.
The one-star is only for the engineering clubs and Lazeez.
View moreThe University of Waterloo is a very all-rounded school. Great professors, a lot of extra curricular activities and on top of that, very disciplined and knows what level their students want to become. The only bad thing I’d say is that they place heavy emphasis on Engineering students, leaving them mentally crowded and doesn’t allow much room for activities outside of the classroom.
