Concordia University was and is a student oriented university. The student voice is heard and accepted by the university and continues to do so after I have left. It connects students to each other and to the world around the University like the city of Montreal and beyond. The two residences each have their own unique characteristics and although I lived at Loyola and met a ton of my life long friends, I did also hear great things about the Grey Nuns residence as well. Although not a top rated school for academics, it is slowly on the rise and innovating new teaching experiences as it goes. There are however several downsides to the school. The atmosphere of a university can get lost as it is downtown as it is built to blend in with the rest of the city rather than seeming distinguishable. Although having good athletics programs the convenience for using the basketball gym and soccer/football field are rather inconvenient as they are located at the Loyola campus which is about a 45 minute metro ride away. The gym membership not being included in our tuition is also disappointing because it would perpetuate a sense of physical and mental health which students do require while attending university. All in all, the university is representative of downtown Montreal and has the potential to be a great University for students because of the willingness of the universities governing body to listen.
View moreThis institution is very developed and has got modern world class academic facilities and resources. This makes it attractive and also a choice for many students in Canada and other countries in the world. The accommodation services offered are also amazing and the students’ security is assured. Academic programs are exciting and challenging at the same time.
View moreFrom what I’ve gathered throughout the year, I feel grateful for the learning and experience as a University student at Concordia. Further, my course Anthropology taught me and has been shaping me for a bigger goal, and I feel through my knowledge I shall be able to veer my focus to a more reality-based career.
