Western University is known for its academic excellence, diverse student body, and vibrant campus life. With a wide range of programs, world-class facilities, and renowned professors, Western provides students with an education that prepares them for success in their chosen fields. The campus is situated in London, Ontario, a city known for its cultural events, outdoor activities, and vibrant downtown. The university also offers a range of extracurricular activities and clubs, allowing students to pursue their passions and make meaningful connections with their peers. With all these features and more, it’s no surprise that I love attending Western University.
View moreI’ve formed a great community within my faculty and most of the professors are nice. The only issue is with the course offerings being so limited, it makes it hard to do summer school if you want to fast track or double major.
View moreI personally would recommend grouping all your classes together during the day. That way you get them all done at once and either have the morning to yourself or have the evening off. Make your professors your friends! It helps a lot when you need to explanations and tips on certain topics. Make friends with the people in each class as well so that you have someone to study and bounce ideas off of. Use your weekdays wisely so that you have time to relax on weekends.
View moreComing to western as a black female, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But it has been a great experience so far. Western is known as a PWI and while that is true, there is a big community of black students (you can find them by joining BSA, ASA, etc) and I have more black friends and POC than white. Aside from that, as a math major, the math department isn’t the greatest, however there have been many math classes that were great. Overall, I found that my professors were accommodating and there is a lot of support through faculty sophs and academic counselling.
