I’m currently a Commerce student at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster and overall I’ve had a really great experience so far. One of the things I like most about McMaster is the community. The campus is really welcoming and it’s easy to get involved in clubs, events, and different student organizations.

I’m part of DeGroote Women in Business, which has been a great way to meet other motivated students and attend events focused on networking, career development, and supporting women in business. There are a lot of opportunities like this that make it easy to connect with people who share similar interests.

Academically, the program balances theory with practical work like group projects and presentations, which actually helps you build real skills you’ll use in internships and future jobs. It can definitely be challenging at times, but the professors and other students are very supportive.

Campus life is also great — there are lots of study spots, good food options, and a really active student community. Overall, McMaster has been a great place to study business and grow both academically and personally.

McMaster University’s co-op for business students are well recognized across the country. The school has partnerships with large, world renowned companies who hire students directly from McMaster. The school has created a platform that includes a list of all potential roles offered by partnered companies where students can directly apply. The partnerships make it convenient to find and secure roles.

I am taking the Business I course at McMaster University. The course is a manageable one but can be quite difficult in areas such as accounting and finance. I like the Student Experience Program which helps students learn how to work with others in a simulated work environment. Furthermore, out of all the classes under the Business I course, I would say I prefer the Marketing classes the most. The classes are engaging and the professors really know how to relate with the students. This makes the learning process very enjoyable. I would recommend this course to anyone who is looking to branch into areas concerning marketing, accounting, finance, economics, and data analytics.

I joined my program not knowing what I intend on doing in the far future however I knew that I am a person who likes to go out and get things done, on hands type of guy. I am at McMaster University in the Business program and I finished my first year not long ago. As much as this is a highly notorious university with an impressive reputation I felt like the program could’ve used a more interactive aspect aside from the regulars come in and watch the slides and leave. So I do think the university or even universities across Canada could offer a more dynamic study style.
