    Getting Comfy

I study at the Augustana campus, in Camrose. A lovely small campus characterized by its natural landscapes.
And it was the size what made a huge difference, I was in a class of 20 people, with a cheerful professor who in my first year became my mentor!
The way you connect with your professors is unique! They are willing to help you, they have office hours and they remember your name, besides the interpersonal connections with professors, you could develop your professional potential easier than in a bigger campus.

    Trailblazing Excellence: University of Alberta

The University of Alberta garners praise for its academic excellence and ample research opportunities, attracting students from diverse backgrounds. The campus facilities are impressive(especially the gym) and lots of good food ngl, fostering a conducive learning environment. However, the cold winters can be challenging for some, and large class sizes may limit personalized attention. To make an informed decision, research the university and visit the campus . If you guys like it, then UOFA is for you.

    Best University

University of Alberta has a lot of accommodation programs/assistance that can help you with your studying, as well as residence life if you plan to reside in their dorms for the school year duration! The professors here as nice, as well, and there are lots of program opportunities and activities. I recommend UA if you’re looking for a nice community and good teacher for your future university!

Criminology programme in the Faculty of Arts

I must admit that my programme of choice is rather small and my faculty is severely underfunded but I suppose that’s the case for the Faculty of Arts in almost all universities. There aren’t as many networking opportunities as compared to my peer in other programmes like business or science. Despite all these shortcomings, I fully believe that significant steps are being taken to make sure the Faculty of Arts can reach its potential. The student network is very empathetic so despite the lack of support from the university you’ll find yourself supported by a strong, close-knit network of peers who are willing to go above and beyond when trying to guide their fellow art students especially if the programme of your choice is as niche as Criminology. Will I recommend the criminology programme at the University of Alberta to others? Yes, I will but I’ll make it a point to highlight the flaws so the person can make an informed decision regarding their application.

They really do push you to be better.

I have a love/hate relationship with how hard the University of Alberta pushes its students. I know that in the long haul it is beneficial to becoming a well-rounded professional. But during study sessions, I can’t help but hate myself a little bit. Overall I 10/10 recommend this school if you’re up for a challenge. The pressure will turn you into a diamond in the rough.

    Most affordable and efficient

Talking about studying abroad, world ranking and affordable is the most essential thing. The University of Alberta ranks among the top 100 universities in the world and the top 5 in Canada. For international students considering the quality of education, they are providing it is one of the most affordable universities out there.
Me being in tech, the faculty of science is super cool, considerate and helpful. The campus is super good as well. Would totally recommend it to international students looking for some good higher education.

Great research opportunities and science program

Amazing science programs, faculty and great research opportunities. The campus is beautiful and has a lot to offer. I lived in Residence for a while and I always loved the community and location. I wish they helped a little more regarding career opportunities though, as there’s little to no help in obtaining employment or even knowing where to look. I did do much more research as an undergraduate than most people I know from other universities. The UofA really opens doors for those opportunities, which as a science student are extremely valuable.

    Excellent Hands on experience

I enjoyed my program in Human Ecology with a major in Clothing and Textiles at the University of Alberta. The program is smaller in size, so classes were small and the instructors were always willing to help. The labs complemented the course material and offered interactive learning. The program also offered an internship which was to be completed at the end of year 4 of the program. The internship provided hands-on experience and in my case, as with many, offered a job position following the internship. The program coordinator assisted in placing students with a company for their internships and always found the best fit for the student’s interests.

The University of Alberta is a recognized international school, with many programs, from the arts to the sciences. It is a large campus and has many extracurricular activities for all interests. I would highly recommend the University of Alberta to anyone looking to attend post-secondary education.
