The education program at the University of Alberta is one that balances quality courses and a vibrant student community on campus. I find that the classes I am taking all contribute to my ultimate goal of becoming a teacher, and the professors I have encountered are all knowledgeable in their fields and seem to care about student success. The layout of the campus can be difficult to get used to as there is often little time to make it to classes that take place in different faculty buildings. I would love to see an improvement in the realm of the online technology that is used by the school to manage classes and registration, as at times it is slow and unresponsive. This school is recognized nationally as one of the best in Canada, and it hosts an array of students due to the dozens of programs that it offers. I feel as though I can obtain a teaching job relatively quickly after graduation, as this school is the most recognized in the province of Alberta, where I plan to teach after I obtain my degree. Overall, I would highly recommend the University of Alberta to both local and international students looking for a quality education mixed with a vibrant campus experience and supportive community.
