My program at Carleton University is cognitive science. The first year of CS is really general so it gives me the chance to find out my interest and narrow down what I want to do for the rest of my University years. Cognitive Science can be used with a lot of other programs, like computer science, business, psychology, etc. One thing about the school that I wish could be different is I wish I could be inside the classes studying synchronous courses. I have not explored the school as much to be able to determine how everything genuinely is in an in-person setting. I would recommend the school to others based on the academics I’ve explored so far. The teachers are professional, and the students I met have been very supportive. Right now I am unsure about my career prospects because of the generality of the program so far, but once I do a co-op placement I think I’ll be able to find more opportunities.
