Great school, good teachers, good outcome after graduation. I graduated from the CST program in 2018. Lots of hands on learning, labs, projects and capstones. Gives you a true industry experience. Landed a job a few months after graduation.
View moreTheir courses are very extensive and fast paced, very hands on and you learn enough to help you on your feet once finished the program. They have quite a bit of online or in class courses so you are able to make that option freely, and they have a great accessibility service
View moreMy program overall is amazing. Hands-on work from Day 1 has sped up the learning process of the curriculum, and have applied the skills I’ve learned into immediate opportunities like running a radio station, and doing work as a Student Social Media Influencer for the school. The reason why it’s not perfect because of the overall volatility some instructors in some courses. Some instructors have the skill and expertise but terrible in terms of teaching and conveying the lessons over the course of the term. Especially when these instructors are from the last term and it really hampers our education because it’s supposed to be the best and it’s just being lackluster.
View moreThis university is great, very focused on studies. Some of the teachers are better than others but overall they’re very helpful. The facilities are good especially coming from a french school. I personally study business management.
View moreThe campus is quite large, but it is easy to get around. If you are having trouble with your schooling, there are numerous options available to aid you. In terms of lectures, I’d say that they are not that effective. Students, for instance, complain about lectures being too long. In addition, as a student for whom English is a second language, it is difficult to understand the lessons if the professor discusses them quickly. It’s quite a struggle to catch up, but I’m gradually adapting to the system. I particularly appreciate that students at BCIT have access to U-Pass BC, a student transportation programme sponsored in conjunction with the BCIT Student Association, Translink, and the Province of British Columbia that allows students to ride the bus, skytrain, and seabus anywhere in Metro Vancouver. The library is a comfortable space to concentrate and study. Despite some of those things, I feel that this school is accommodating to all students. The school itself feels safe and homely, just right for the course I’m studying. As a new student at BCIT, I am glad I chose it. I have gained valuable knowledge and skills that will benefit me in my future career.
