I transferred to SFU from another institution and found out that the advisors at my previous institution didn’t explain some loopholes in the transfer guide to me. This made it extremely hard for me to declare my major, get into classes, and more. By connecting with SFU advisors, faculty members, and professors, I got the guidance and support I needed to get back on track and eventually complete my degree. There have been issues with the availability of classes and advising during the pandemic which left an effect even after the transition back to in-person learning, but there’s always an opportunity for change when students speak up.

View moreBeing a science student at SFU, I really enjoy the friendly environment at my faculty. The professors are very kind and caring. I get a lot of help in labs and the teamwork is amazing at SFU. Although the workload could be stressful sometimes, some professors allow you to extend the deadlines. This really reduces my stress level and allow me to do better at the assignments.
