This is probably one of the very few universities that are so optimal in the potential they give you. Courses aren’t way too prolonged and you can easily schedule a lot of things in-between lectures, offering not only plenty of free time, but also giving the opportunity the expand further on your network, something extremely crucial nowadays for young people. With such a nice blend of academic study and leisure time, also combined with the multitude of events happening in the campus, UNWE certainly offers the ideal experience for students, and as I had said earlier, if I were given a second chance at choosing my university after graduation, I’d still choose UNWE!

I think for a person who really loves math and finance it’s great. There are so many events and competitions. The only thing I don’t like is that we don’t study statistics on a laptop (excel), but we study really old statistics.

Having attended the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), I have mixed feelings about my overall experience. On one hand, the university provides a relatively straightforward path to obtaining grades and degrees, making the academic process somewhat easier for students to navigate. The grading system is clear, and it’s relatively simple to understand where you stand in terms of performance, which is an advantage for those who prefer transparency and ease in their academic journey.

However, I do have reservations about the broader institutional framework and the environment at UNWE. The university’s establishment often feels overly focused on presentation and status, sometimes giving an impression of being more concerned with its image than fostering deep intellectual development. There is a sense that the institution can sometimes make students appear more competent than they actually are, which may give a misleading impression of academic rigor.

In my opinion, this emphasis on surface-level success detracts from the value of true academic achievement. While the system may be accessible for students, it risks undermining the pursuit of deeper, more challenging academic exploration and personal growth. In this respect, UNWE can seem to prioritize convenience and optics over a meaningful and challenging educational experience.

In conclusion, while UNWE offers a relatively easy route to academic grades, its approach to education could benefit from a stronger focus on intellectual depth and a more authentic academic environment.

The teaching staff is very professional and always ready to help and the facilities are very good. The university gives future prospecting to its students. Thera are a lot of conferences and events. The good location is another bonus.

The university has very good facilities, the professors have solutions for actual problems. They also have an opinion about questions about the area of their studies. The schedule is well organized and the students can successfully combine their classes with appropriate work in the field of their studies.

My opinion is that the university is at a very high level. My specialty is Business Economics in English and I would say that both the faculty and the teaching program are quite good. The conditions under which we study are good and provide students with better ways to prepare in their respective fields of study.

UNWE is one of the oldest universities in my city. It is a big university that provides you many opportunities for your growth during your education. Although there are not many programmes in English – the university has collected the best ones and created courses in English.
I have been a student for 2 years now and I am very impressed by the fact that in my program there are many foreigners that really enjoy their stay here in Sofia.
Another thing that I do like is the fact that most of the teachers are motivated and have the charisma to teach.
To be honest, I do not regret my choice to study here even though I was not happy at first.

The UNWE is one of the biggest and oldest universities in Bulgaria on one hand and among the most respected higher institutions in the country on the other hand. All academic activities are concentrated in one large building and all lectures and seminars are within a walking distance so you don’t need to waste a lot of time reaching different lecture halls or seminar rooms.
The library is not bad but I cannot say that it is very comprehensive. There is a computer room in the main library with free Wi-FI for students.
The Faculty of General Economics is among the most important ones and its main asset is the teachers who work there.
The most important feature of the master’s program in economics is that it is more like a program in applied economics than pure economics program. Of course, that is due to the fact that it is a direct successor to the Political economy program. It means that you can deliberate about different concepts and not just calculate maths problems.
Relatively old facilities stand out as the most negative feature of the university.
I would recommend the program and the university to anyone who wants to learn more about the subject they are interested in. However, do not have too high expectations because you may be disappointed.
