As a result, most students aren’t able to follow the curriculum within the expected timeline, creating some disorganization in how semesters are structured.
That said, the course itself is well-structured and provides a solid education, with a wide range of subjects within the field of statistics. The content is technical and in-depth, requiring consistent effort and dedication.
One of the highlights of the program is the PET Estatística (Education Tutorial Program), which adds a lot of value to the academic experience. Through PET, students can develop projects, join academic events, and work in teams, offering a richer and more engaging experience beyond regular classes.
Overall, it’s a demanding program that prepares students well for a career in statistics. It’s recommended for those who are truly passionate about numbers and ready to put in the hard work.

The university and the overall vibe are great. However, in some engineering courses, it feels like the teachers aren’t very engaged with the students or interested in staying up to date with industry practices. It seems that the focus is more on pushing students to become researchers rather than equipping them with solid technical knowledge and practical skills that are directly applicable in the job market. This approach sometimes leaves students less prepared for real-world engineering challenges and professional demands.

As expected, public universities in Brazil are extremely strict regarding internal processes and bureaucracy, everything takes days and days to get a miserable unsatisfactory response.
Regarding teachers, it’s kind of every man for himself, each teacher has his own teaching method that doesn’t follow a guideline. Two teachers of the same subject, one of them you learn from and the other you pass the year with.
