The University of Botswana boasts modern, top-tier buildings and well-equipped classrooms that create conducive learning environment. Most lecturers demonstrate a strong commitment to their work, delivering quality instruction and engaging students effectively.
However, given the large student population of over 15,000, the student-to-lecturer ratio can be quite high. This often results in classes being held in large auditoriums, which limits personal interaction between students and faculty. As a result, students seeking clarification or additional guidance may find it challenging to connect directly with their lecturers and often rely on tutors for support.
Overall, the university offers a high standard of facilities and dedicated teaching staff, but the large class sizes can pose a challenge for personalized learning.
View moreIts a good university, has an exceptional library which I like, I don’t particularly like the supervisor – student communication, it lacks a lot and hinders progress, so you might take long to graduate… not enough oncampus student support
View moreThr university is doing very well , I like the idea of having to put in tge the effort to cater for every student in the university by including the student representative council(SRC) that is driven by students , it helps students to pass their queries, suggestions , and what needs to be changed in the university through other studenwho are their representatives..And thats what I like with yhr university most and also the the blended teaching method of using both physical and online teaching. What I don’t like about the university is that , actually what I wish to be changed is the case of accommodation, accommodation is limited and not all student have the ability to pay rent for themselves
View moreI did not like the disorganisation of some lecturers. The limited or lack of some equipment, which restricted some learning process.
My program was fun for the most part, although I do feel there were modules that were unnecessary. I enjoyed learning about the various ways the body works and why humans think amd behave the way they do. The process of applying knowledge to case studies and diagnosing, and suggesting treatment of mental disorders was a lot of fun. There was a lot of repetitive content(modules).
I would suggest the school to incorporate internships for those doing a double major. I think its unfair to limit it to single Psychology majors. The experience or exposure to all fields under social science would benefit double major students just as much. Other than that, it was an fun program I would do it all over again.
