My time at VUB was marred by a distressing encounter with racism and discrimination. Despite reporting the incident, the university failed to maintain anonymity, leading to retaliation from the professor in question. Promised measures to prevent further bias were not upheld, as the professor was allowed to serve as a jury member for my thesis, resulting in a biased judgment and subsequent failure. Even my supervisor sided against me, compounding the injustice. This ordeal not only cost me time but also additional tuition fees for redoing my thesis. I urge non-European students to reconsider studying at VUB due to its failure to address discrimination effectively.
