The University of Chittagong has the biggest campus of any university in Bangladesh. The hilly structure, deep forest, forest animals, and calmness are the main features of its natural beauty. The university is also offering students international standard education. Teachers try their best to make their classes effective and enjoyable. The university also provides cheap accommodation services. It has 15 student residential halls which is really a good point for accommodation. However, the University still need to focus on its research output, reduction of student politics, Improvement of the transportation system, etc.
View moreI completed my Bachelor’s and master’s degrees from this university. While studying at this university, I noticed that the university does have a big campus but it is not well organized. the university buildings and residential halls should be centralized to have a good ambience for the students to study and connect with each other students. The subject of Sociology is my well-chosen program that is run by a team of experienced faculty members. Professors’ classes are so effective and interesting. The program has both market demand and scopes for further study abroad. Other facilities are also good to be happy of. I recommend this university to prospective students.
View moreI am Mr anonymous. I would like to get to the point. If we talk about our students that would be around 27000. And 9500 are female students. So the ratio is not equal. It is almost 2:1. And there are only 9 halls for 18000 male students. And for the ladies, there are only 5 halls. So accommodation is a great issue here. The authority could not provide the students with a place to stay so the students stay in the city. In terms of that our varsity is not in Chittagong city. It is in Hathazari Upazila. That is also a great issue for us. Because we have to go to urban area for our needs(medical, shopping). And if I talk about the culture of Hathazari then in short I would put it as conservative. Language is also included in culture. So the dialect of Chittagong is a bit different from other parts of Bangladesh. We face problems understanding local people. But that seems fun often. Students don’t involve themselves in cultural activities that much compared to other universities in Bangladesh. I know that I have presented cons only. But whatever has been written is truth.
View moreAs I was a student of Sociology, the course was fantastic. The course teacher was helpful to make things easy. I liked most coursework, especially research-focused coursework. On the other hand, University can improve including recent courses. I recommend anyone to study there and can be a good career ahead. My University experience was quite satisfactory as I am making things okay by using gathered knowledge.
View moreThe program I have studied here is MSS in Sociology. The natural environment of the campus is so good that I can’t complain about any. But the education at this university is not that commendable. Many graduates from this university suffer from not getting a job even if it takes 3-4 years after the completion of the study. Students do not get regular classes as the teachers are not always committed to the class and lectures. So often it is waste of time to wait for the classes. Yet there are some online and offline educational and research cohorts engaging with them, one can flourish in his knowledge area. Living on this campus is healing for the mind. But in the end education, classes, facilities, and success after study matter.
View moreChittagong University is one of the most populated and attractive universities in Bangladesh. Since its establishment in 1966, Chittagong University has provided to become one of the flagship research-led universities which are known for the excellence of its teaching, research and services to local, national and international communities. Actually, it is located on the Southside of Bangladesh which is also the port city of Bangladesh. The area of CU is 1754 acres. There are almost 28000 students studying here. The main attraction of Cu is that it has a museum, special train and its natural area.
Among the 10 faculties of CU, Social science is one of them. Among the 9 departments of social science, Sociology is one of them. I am a student of sociology. I love my department for its system, environment, criteria and tradition.
Finally, pray to Allah to long live my University.
The University of Chittagong is a great place if you are a nature lover as it has a very beautiful natural view. From beginning to now it is shining whole Bangladesh not only by its natural beauty but also intellectual property. Sociology is an old department of this university. It is unique for inspiring an appropriate circumstance to create human capital with a proper understanding of social research.
View moreThe Department of Sociology strives to give students a diverse exposure to and understanding of sociology, the department has put strong emphasis both on the methodological and theoretical preparation of its students. The department is determined to establish an excellent academic environment with opportunities to think critically and apply sociology to students’ personal experiences. However, the students need the support of the teachers regarding the issues related to their studies as well.
View moreI really like my university and the programme I have completed. And I also have to mention the contribution of a few teachers who led us on the right path to be successful in life. Having said that, our authority can improve our education system by recruiting more qualified teachers and creating the proper environment for the pupils. Moreover, hospital services, transport services and other facilities ought to be enhanced for ensuring a quality education system in our university.
View moreThe University of Chittagong is one of the top-ranked public universities in Bangladesh located in the southern part of the country. The university is mainly famous for its natural beauty, special transportation system (University Shuttle train), and as the root of Grameen Bank. There is no question about the beauty of campus and infrastructures. But the education quality provided here, and the majority of the teachers are not up to the mark. Especially, the program Sociology (Bachelor’s and Master’s) highly need some efficient faculty members who not only will teach the best but also motivate the student for acquiring knowledge, doing research, going for higher studies, etc. The subject of Sociology also has less focus in the practical field for the implementation of theoretical knowledge. However, some teachers are really exceptional and department staffs are so much cordial with the students. There is much potential for this program if the curriculum is always updated, quality teachers are recruited, and practical fields are created for the students for implementing their theoretical knowledge.
