This university has to be one of the worst! Most of the teaching was excellent except for the fact that some tutors and subject coordinators did not have any empathy or consideration for the burnout social work students were having during a year with 1000 hours of work placements. However, the administration at this university is absolutely appalling, to the point that it made this entire experience horrible. The placement team gives you one option, and if you decline it (even for valid reasons, like that the agency is 2 hrs away) then you have to find your own – mind you, you have to find 5 options, be interviewed at all of them, AND then present them to the placement team before they ‘approve’ it. I had many friends in the Master of Social Work course who declined due to valid reasons and were forced to do this and then banded together and had to e-mail the head of the social sciences department, who luckily realised how ridiculous this was and sorted it out for them. My own experience was that I set up my own placement and the day before I started, the agency contacted me saying that the university never sent them the paperwork! The agency then said they’d have to cancel or delay my placement if they didn’t receive the documents in time. I then had to run around calling 3 different people at the university to have them sort it out. Absolutely incompetent administration teams and processes. I have recommended to everyone I know who’s looking to study at this university that they avoid it. If there are other options for you, please steer clear of this university.
View moreWestern Sydney University is an exciting and contemporary university in Australia. Since the beginning of my semester, I have been warmly welcomed, and I truly valued that. The staff at the university are incredibly helpful and offer a variety of support. Throughout my time here, I have gained a wealth of knowledge, connected with inspiring individuals, broadened my perspective, had an enjoyable experience, and admired the university’s picturesque campus.
View moreThanks to Western Sydney University, I can develop my business knowledge, especially international marketing practices and business strategies. I enjoyed what and how the lecture taught all students to operate projects and reports in the right direction and set limited guidelines and innovation. That helps the student improve their creativity and ideas for building the business concept. However, the things that I think the school should change are creating more spaces for presentations and some workshops for students who have the ability to lead the work smoothly. Additionally, I recommend, that instead of only the final presentation of each subject, the school needs to create daily presentations for every class to show what students are preparing for the final report. While studying WSU at the campus in Vietnam, I really appreciated the random choice of team members from the lecture as it helps students have the opportunity to work well with different types of people, increasing adaptability in a flexible environment.
View moreI’m studying Master of Business Administration at this university. My experience has been extremely enriching so far. The intellectual expertise of the professors along with their vast experience in their fields makes it extremely worthwhile to go to the classroom. Each and every lecture is am experience of its own. We get the scope of innovating in our assignments and bringing out the best in us. The course structure is designed in such a way that a student learns everything without being unreasonably pressurized and comes out with new skills and knowledge out of each endeavor.
