In my opinion, the University of Wollongong (UOW) is a unique university to study at because it provides a range of different tools to help students have a better experience. This includes the quick chat on their website, events and many clubs to choose from. I enjoy studying at UOW because I have lived on two campuses and both have given me great experiences and I have made great memories in each of them. Yes, I do recommend other students to study at UOW because you’ll meet great professors and feel safe and comfortable in many of your classes.
View moreThe University of Wollongong provides great facilities such as Peer Support groups to assist with studies during stressful exam periods. They cover all aspects of content an d allow students to gather together in unity and discuss overwhelming key concepts
View moreThe overall course contents to assessment are arranged and given in a way that is readily applicable in real-life scenarios. In some cases, futuristic approaches are discussed which are very much relevant to graduates like us.
View moreThe whole program (i.e., Psychological Science) was very challenging. The professors highly encouraged critical thinking in our work, and not just accepted base-level understanding of theoretical frameworks and research evidences. This allows us, students, to be better prepared as future researchers. However, as the program was delivered online, there were a few technical difficulties and not all of the professors were able to deliver the lessons live. Nonetheless, these hardly impact our ability to learn the subject content as the professors are highly approachable and reply relatively quickly. Indeed, my experience with UOW is one that I will not forget and will thereby always treasure.
View moreI studied Bachelor of Communication and Media majoring in Marketing Communication and Advertising at UOW for 3 years. The structure of the program was clear and well organized. Most of the professors and staffs were amazing and happy to help you with any questions or issues. The school has students from around the world with different cultures, so I did make a lot of new friends as well. One thing I did not quite understand that the course fees was about 3 times expensive for me as an international student compared to a local student.
View moreThis university offers a wide range of degrees and allowed me to actually do the degree I wanted, Bachelor of Marine Science.
Not many unis offered a tailored degree specifically for this, so I was very excited when I found out!
UOW is easily one of the nicer looking universities of coastal NSW. There are so many great cafes and lunch spots on campus that allow for the perfect social stop between classes while the lecture theatres are modern and well designed for maximum engagement, even the large ones. I can’t speak for other faculties however, some science facilities look outdated but the university keeps the technology inside updated and there’s always new facilities being worked on.
Online study has been difficult this year however the science faculty has tried their best to provide a stable experience and has done an excellent job as providing support.
Obviously not without faults, UOW has limited on-campus parking at a fee, making driving to uni difficult at best and impossible during peak hours. Not all staff live up to the standard set by the majority, with some providing just a bad experience.
Overall, the pros of the University of Wollongong far outweigh the cons and I wholeheartedly recommend UOW
UOW offers a variety of courses, say engineering or medicine. Currently ranked in top 2 percent of the universities all over the world.
Located on the coastal southern side of Sydney, UOW has got a wonderful campus, with all the latest technology available for students to use and explore.
