I studied International Business at UOW, starting in Dubai and finishing in Australia. Same degree, two continents.
I studied Masters in international Business.
Things I like were:
– Seamless transfer: Credits moved, momentum stayed. No reset button needed.
– Real international business: Classmates from 40 countries.
– Case studies were lived experiences, not theory.
Two strengths: Dubai gave me Middle Eastern market insight and intimacy. Australia added Asia-Pacific depth and research resources. Together, they made me employable across regions.
Again, UOW’s multi-campus model isn’t just for marketing, it is functional, because
My resume doesn’t just list a degree, it proves I can operate in diverse business environments.
Wollongong itself helps: serious academics, coastal lifestyle, Sydney which is a mega city is still accessible but not overwhelming.
The Caveat (My dislikes):
– Cross-campus moves requires a lot of paperwork, especially with visa application.
– Prepare for the logistics, but know the payoff is real.
– Cultural-shock affected my grade, adjusting in Australia which is totally different from United Arab Emirates.
UOW gave me geography as a career asset.

Their curriculum covers the greats of European culture, language and the enlightenment. Defintiely reinforces the facts about how Europe improved the entire uncivlised world.
View moreMy time at the University of Wollongong was nothing short of transformative. The university is nestled in the serene and beautiful city of Wollongong, providing a perfect, focused environment for learning. The campus itself is stunning, with excellent facilities and a very reasonable student-to-staff ratio, which made the entire academic experience much more personal and engaging.
What truly made my experience exceptional, however, was the quality of the teaching staff. The professors were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely friendly and approachable. I am particularly indebted to my Strategic Marketing professor, Professor Kamel Micheal.
I will never forget the time I was working on a research paper about Starbucks’ marketing strategy. While many professors would just offer feedback in their office, Professor Micheal went above and beyond. He personally took me on a field trip to a local Starbucks, where he provided a live, professional deconstruction of their store layout, customer engagement, and brand positioning. This hands-on, practical analysis was incredibly insightful and brought the theoretical concepts from our textbooks to life.
Thanks to his dedicated mentorship and unique teaching approach, my paper not only earned a well-deserved ‘A’ but also gave me a profound understanding of real-world marketing. I am eternally grateful for his guidance.
UOW is more than just a university with great infrastructure; it’s a place where educators are deeply invested in their students’ success. I highly recommend it to any student seeking a holistic and supportive educational journey.
