York’s an ideal uni for anyone looking to be challenged without giving their entire life over to study. The staff have been very supportive and have been helpful in settling me in for the first term. From my experience the accommodation is very good in comparison to other universities as well. There’s a heap of societies to join and get involved with in a diverse range of interests. There’s also real sense of belonging to the uni and particularly to the colleges, which host a variety of events and help with our day to day lives. The city itself is a bonus, it’s a fun city with the “city feel” without being overwhelmingly large and the night life is top drawer.
It’s a great uni all round and I’ve really enjoyed my first term, would definitely recommend.
