I studied Telecommunications Engineering at this University when I was starting. At that time the University of Vigo was the third University in Spain that offered that title, together with the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. The teachers were young people eager to work for a quality education while developing their research careers. There were students from all over Spain, a very rich and healthy environment, a lot of fellowship, and it was easy to create very fruitful groups of friendship and work. That did not mean that the race was hard, as was expected of a telecommunications engineer, but everything had its reward. To this day many of the comrades of that time are in important positions in companies and administrations, generally in sectors related to telecommunications. I do not know anyone who is unemployed.
