Navigating University While Not Always in Class

Honestly, I didn't attend class that often, so my connection to the university was more practical than emotional. I appreciated the resources, but I felt disconnected from campus culture. In hindsight, I'd have engaged more, but I also believe that university should facilitate more digital resources and support for those who, for whatever reason, can't always attend in person.

Don't recommend

I studied tourism at UAB for one semester in 2022. I was supposed to stay for a full year, but my experience wasn't good and I left after the first semester. First of all, the housing area (Villa universitária) has mold. I was sick constantly during my exhange and went through multiple respiratory infections. I also had almost daily headaches and a very painful and strong cough. All of this eased after a couple weeks once I returned to my home country. Other exhange students told me about having the same issues and some noticed mold in their apartment walls. The housing area at times is very unsave and not controlled properly. The tourism faculty is located in the same building with the housing area reception. Therefore, it was very excluded from the rest of the campus. That's why, I didn't really get to use any of the services offered at the campus or get a real university experience. UAB also has a medical centre for "all students" according to their website, yet this doesn't include tourism students. I was turned away from the centre despite being extremely sick once they heard I study tourism at the school. The classes focused more on remembering as much information as you can to pass the exam, rather than focusing on understanding, critical thinking etc. The teachers were very often late to classes, they felt very unmotivated and I received very little feedback. In short, I do not recommend UAB. My experience was a loss of money and time.

Well invested money

A master of immersive and comprehensive quality focused on people with little or no design knowledge. I had an excellent experience, the only thing that perhaps did not convince me was that the final work is done as a group.

Good english class options and great teachers

In my opinion the school has a friendly environment and staff. I have classes in English and I find the teachers well prepared and have interesting classes. It has a good cantine with breakfast and lunch, you can even buy beer as well.

Do not recomend at all

Ive had so many problems with this school>tehy just care about money , after you get in barcelonna even information they just give it if you pay like 200 euros . than the classes> they say you have the option to study online or Presencial but the presential the techer is on her house so it is also online. you dont get any presencial class. aldo if the teacher is in the school she is the same person as the receptionist, the cordiator and director of the course. Classes were poorly organized, with minimal academic content*( if you had any kind of study about the theme you know they dont say anything) and a strong lack of structure. Many subjects were rushed or skipped, and there was little to no real academic guidance.

I wish I could leave a positive review, but...

I genuinely wish I could leave a positive review about Hospitality Academy, but unfortunately, my experience has been incredibly disappointing and feels like a scam. They promised a hospitality certificate program with proper classes and training. I attended the first class, and after that—nothing. No follow-up, no new classes, and the content they provided was completely outdated, with videos from as far back as 2008. What’s worse is the complete lack of communication. I’ve reached out more than ten times via email and received no response. I also contacted my supposed advisor multiple times, and again—nothing. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially from a company claiming to help professionals grow in the hospitality industry. I do not recommend this program to anyone. If you're serious about your education, go directly with accredited universities. It will save you time, money, and a lot of frustration.
