I am studying at the Medical Faculty of the University of Belgrade, majoring in Integrated Academic Studies in Medicine. What bothers people the most is what direction it is, how long the studies last and how long they study. My course lasts 6 years and after those 6 years it is calculated as if you have completed basic and master studies (6 0), hence the name of the integrated study in the name of the course. After completing 6 years, you acquire the right to the title of doctor of medicine, after which you can opt for further education or specialization that you want, but do not have to, you can work as a general practitioner. About 500 students enroll in my major each year, with all the list moves. In addition to my major, there are also basic academic studies of nursing, but also medicine in English, which is a more expensive variant of my major and costs 7000eur per year. At the medical school, non-budget students are a rarity, because if you give year after year, you are on a budget, because when you pass the conditional exams for the next year, you have fulfilled the right to budget funding. For self-financing students, the tuition fee is around 127,000 dinars. The faculty is not very organized and requires a lot of personal commitment. Professors are also doctors, so professorship is not their primary job, which is reflected in most cases in their lack of interest, but if you show interest, they are always ready to meet you and help as much as they can and know. In general, the concept of the faculty is different from the others, because it contains a lot of practical subjects, and attendance at all forms of teaching is mandatory, which can be exhausting, but it lasts. The first three years of study are the so-called preclinical years, where obstetric subjects are taught, which provide some fundamental knowledge and general principles of structure and function of the human body, but every year there is one clinical subject that requires work with patients in hospital. The next 3 years are clinical and the exercises are reduced to working in the hospital and learning the practical part. I would recommend to anyone who likes that vocation to enroll in my college, but not if they are not sure, because to the people who enroll, because they did not know what else or at the urging of someone else, the collapse will be a real torture. The faculty is located within the Clinical Center of Serbia, so it is well connected with all parts of the city. What is a problem is the distance to the nearest canteen. It takes about half an hour to get to the first canteen, which is usually not enough in the break between lectures for lunch. In addition to the educational part, the faculty also offers a handful of sports and entertainment activities, as well as its own cafe (which in my opinion is important). Parties, excursions, but also serious trips are often organized, as well as the famous Medicinijada, which is organized every year in Montenegro.
