International Business

I’ve had a very enriching experience at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. What I like the most about this university is its strong academic reputation, diverse student community, and the wide variety of programs and opportunities it offers. As an International Business student, I’ve gained valuable knowledge and practical skills through well-structured courses and dedicated professors. The campus environment is dynamic and offers many ways to get involved, both academically and socially. One thing that could be improved is the bureaucracy in some administrative processes, which can sometimes be slow. However, this doesn’t take away from the overall quality of education. I would definitely recommend UANL to students who are looking for a solid education and personal growth in a public university with a strong presence in Mexico and Latin America.

A Great Place to Learn Cybersecurity

Studying Cybersecurity at Bowen University has been a good experience overall. The lecturers are approachable and genuinely want you to understand what you’re learning, not just cram it. I’ve learned a lot about coding, networking, and how to think critically about online security. One thing I really like is how the school encourages discipline and balance — you grow both academically and personally. But one major downside is that during exams, we have to write out our codes by hand instead of running them on a computer. It makes it harder to test and debug our work properly. I really hope this changes soon so we can get more hands-on experience. Still, Bowen has a peaceful environment, a close community, and a supportive system that helps you stay focused. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to study Cybersecurity in a calm, value-driven atmosphere.

Gone downhill in the last few years.

I did my BBus through Open Polytech (2007-2013) and was really happy, recommended them. However, in the last couple of years I had to do the Level 5 Certificate in Financial Services (Residential Property) and am now doing the Level 4 Certificate in Accounting, and wow has the standard gone downhill. There were so many errors in the Level 5 Certificate, they had not updated it with very important changes in the laws (of which I rolled out changes in my organisation, so I knew more than the tutor did!). Now I am doing a Level 4 Certificate and the standard of the information is poor, forms that don't work and vaguely worded questions that the 'tutor' refused to clarify. At least I didn't pay for it but the taxpayers (of which I am one) are still paying for it! Such a shame to see my alma mater go backwards like that.

Reflection on my School experience

My school years were a mix of challenges and growth. The academics were strong, and many teachers were supportive, helping me develop key skills. Extracurriculars like sports and clubs made the experience fun and memorable. However, the workload was sometimes stressful, and I wish there had been more focus on mental health. A more flexible learning approach and better inclusivity policies could have improved the environment. Overall, it was a valuable experience, and I’m grateful for the lessons and friendships. With some improvements, it could be even better for future students.
