Quite a good university with a bit messed up Computer Science course

The facilities of the school of computing are great - very modern building, newest equipment, campus located in the city centre (most likely you don’t need to commute there by metro or a bus). One major thing however that is lacking is the organisation. Being a third-year student I still have the same feeling - the program is written very chaotically. In 2019 there was that revolution of the programme (to keep learning the newest technology) to which lectures and demonstrators still feel a bit unadapted. I hope this will get better in the next year or two years. However, after that time, the taught technology may change again (which is good) and it will take another couple of years for the lecturers to be fluent in what they teaching (which is not good).

My time at Northumbria

Overall, my time at Northumbria was ok. Not great just ok. My time was influenced by the COVID outbreak and so my final year was all online. Through my second and final year there was a lack of support from tutors. Not only that I had extenuating circumstances which were ignored when appealing my final grade.

Semester 1 Review at UoH

I just started Semester 2 at University of Huddersfield and I’m a student currently studying Applied Psychology on a 4 year course. I think most of the lecturers here are really kind and explain concepts very well. The pacing of assignments or tests is also good as there’s always plenty of time to meet deadlines. The student support team is also really great, as well as other amenities that are available on campus to support the students. We are also assigned a personal tutor with whom we can communicate about any issues. Overall, my experience so far at the University is basically perfect, lots of opportunities to meet new people as well which is fun.

A Future with more cheers!

Reading about the school, I was impressed by the attention they claim to give the students, their ranking amongst top universities and the business school facilitators plus the partnering bodies. I was also intrigued by the data lab and how their research are always towards the betterment of society and humanity. I was not shocked to resume school and see all these, first hand; I am proud to be part of NUBS story! The classrooms are standard and environmentally friendly, the campus is aesthetically beautiful and has a story to tell. The reception is almost like a friendly work station and I love how my desk replicates an office setting making me feel at home and not like a child resuming school. I resumed late and had my supervisors and students helping me catch up with a friendly team that I could reach out to without fear or remorse. It sure is a great place to school and work.

Learning in a practical way

This university has a lot of qualities such as adapting to students in order to optimize learning, and the desire to confront the student as quickly as possible with the world of work. On the other hand, I would criticize this school for poorly disseminated information and a gloomy community life.

The amazing professors/teachers there!

First of all since my campus was in the heart of Rome, the place and inside of the university was like a whole museum. I love how friendly and helpful the staff was, the professors were one in a million. I love how they did all their best to tell us about the subjects in detail and in a fun way with examples for us to get into it more. I liked how they make time and engage in it and actually help us to teach us, so it was all in one reading writing with our own brain and infos searching for the sources by ourselves listening but also being able to express our own way of knowledge on the topics!
