The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was founded in 1963. The public research university has a global vision and a mission to mix tradition with modernity. It was established by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong and is considered the second-oldest university in the territory. When it was founded, it was created as a federation of already existing college: the Chung Chi College, the New Asia College and the United College. The school is known for its teaching excellence. Students come from near and far to study at this great university. Not only because of its unique teaching approach, but also because of its bilingualism and multiculturalism. Graduates of CUHK are well-equipped for their future careers, as they are connected through the extensive alumni network that the Chinese University of Hong Kong has. The school is one one the leading universities in Hong Kong and Asia. It is designed around a flexible credit unit system. Besides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the higher education institution offer general education courses to broaden the students’ horizons. The courses are offered in many subject areas.
