View moreMidlands State University is exceptionally great. With a Bachelor’s in Science Food Science and Technology Honours degree, a program not only centred around food production and innovation, l learnt a lot and outgrew in the most tremendous way. I would greatly recommend the University, as one gets to meet different personalities from different societies not only Zimbabweans, from Mozambique, The Democratic Republic of Congo e.t.c
View moreMy experience at Midlands State University (MSU) studying for a Bachelor of Commerce in Banking and Finance (Honours) was both rewarding and challenging. The programme provided me with a strong foundation in core finance and banking principles, covering areas such as financial management, risk analysis, compliance, and digital banking. The lecturers were knowledgeable and approachable, often encouraging us to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
One of the highlights of the programme was the opportunity to carry out research. My dissertation focused on the impact of e-banking on operational risk of cybercrime in Zimbabwean commercial banks, which deepened my understanding of the intersection between technology and finance. This practical research component made the course very relevant to current industry trends.
Although resources were sometimes limited, the university promoted resilience and independent learning. Group projects and presentations also helped me strengthen my teamwork and communication skills.
Overall, the programme prepared me well for the professional world, and I was able to smoothly transition into roles at ZB Bank, Steward Bank, and Hibernic Energy Group. I would recommend this programme to students who are committed to building a career in banking and finance, especially in emerging markets.
View moreI would say it was actually a great university. Flexible time table for lectures. Really patient and understanding lecturers. Also the encouraged sports actually played in the university netball team. Above all l disliked their lack of a backup generators which could support the whole school. They really should improve on that. And also the dining food, uuum more effort needed there.
View morethe accommodation had lately became a challenge to secure at MSU as the policy pay first is a disadvantage to most students and also the current students who manages to secure it are not happy with the security that’s inadequate as some students steal from their fellow roommates. I would recommend it
