I was studying with an university in South Africa, and because I preferred to study from home decided to try universities from a top 1st world country and therefore decided to join Walden University. My experience was shaped by the difference between the university in South Africa to Walden University. One of the greatest positives with Walden University for me was the very broad and diverse list of optional subjects I could choose from. Additionally, I enjoyed the various external resources such as softwares and platforms related to the subjects, for example I participated in the Business Strategy Game “BSG” in the Business Strategy subject, I enjoyed it so much that I dedicated myself so much so that I was awarded as being amongst the best in the world. Lastly my experience with the teachers was also very positive despite the fact that the education was remote.

He follows up and does mental check in’s to make sure I am still doing okay. My Teachers are helpful, and SUPPORTIVE. I was at Penn Foster and Penn Foster was a nightmare.
View moreWalden University provides a holistic approach to teaching and learning. My courses widen my knowledge of Special Education, in terms of social change and social justice. Understanding a variety of evidence-based strategies that can be utilized as effective and relevant. As a result of its inclusiveness, one can easily accommodate the disabled and non-disabled community, without marginalization. In conclusion, staff support and assistance are prioritized so each individual is successful.
View moreOverall, my experience at Walden has been amazing. Going from in person learning during my pursuit for my bachelors in psychology to being online for my masters in mental health counseling has been a breeze although during the process I was nervous. The only reason I gave this review four stars is due to some difficulty I am having trying to get my paperwork for my practicum together. I had to postpone my start date due to my site coordinator for my practicum not being familiar with Walden’s process for practicum requirements.
