Studies and Students

UK is made up of a graduate school as well as many colleges specialising in various subject areas, such as the College of Fine Arts, College of Medicine, College of Design, College of Law, and College of Education. These different parts of the university offer degree programmes from undergraduate to doctoral and professional levels. In addition, these programmes are supported by an impressive fifteen libraries on the UK campus, of which the largest is the William T. Young Library. Around 25,000 students attend the university, with the vast majority being undergraduates.

Research

The University of Kentucky boasts the Coldstream Research Campus in the Kentucky Bluegrass Region where thousands work on research in areas like equine health, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. The university aims to increase even more its emphasis on research in the coming years.

University Life and Facilities

Students have an array of activities from which to choose to take part in, especially sports. The university has various club sports on offer as well as athletics and aquatics. In fact, the UK athletics teams are even officially nicknamed the ‘Wildcats.’ UK’s sporting success is aided by its facilities which are outdoor as well as indoor, including the Seaton Centre, Johnson Centre, and the Lancaster Aquatic Centre.

International students may seek support at UK in the International Centre.

And finally for accommodation, there is housing available on campus for students.
