Transferring from a community college one of the things I found absolutely amazing about UH is how much the staff invests in and supports you. They do their best to accommodate to what they think you might need. Before you can even think of reaching out they’ve already done it through emails and weekly canvas inbox notifications you can tell how much your success means to them. I’ve always had trouble with my advisors because I never feel like I’ve come out of the meeting with more knowledge than before but at UH I go to my advisor for everything, no question is too much and I come out with more opportunities to grow than before. One of my main stresses was how to structure my degree plan but one meeting with my advisor left me with my next few years planned out as well as changing to a dual major because I had the means to do it in my schedule.
